A revitalized Medvedev won his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid period, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and finally splitting with former mentor his previous coach.

Now training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's initial trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface since that period of that year.

The win also indicates he has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to secure a title is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching play style and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was finished.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an better service.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The pair exchanged breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, took control to force a decider.

The opponent saved 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
